[Paid] Looking for Audio Programmer to create Open World music system

CLOSED

Must be created using Metasounds + Quartz.

The simplest explanation is that I’m after an open-world music system akin to BOTW’s, but further information is in the music GDD.

There is a game GDD and also a music GDD. The game GDD will be made available when necessary. Here is the music GDD.

If you feel like this is something you can create then please email me at CLOSED with your portfolio, your rates, and any information you wish to add.

Please note that the only music required for this stage, is placeholder music used to form the system. A composer should be able to go through later and replace it with the game-specific music. I am open to both being done. With a system like this, of course it wont take single music tracks, they must be procedurally varied.

Cheers

Further Information (IMPORTANT)

Because it is an open world game, it can’t play the same track repeatedly. But procedural music also doesn’t sound good for this type of game. A solution would be needed for how this is handled, I consulted with an audio designer and his solution was to have short sections, that when put together, form a whole track, and then variations of each section, and as it moves to another section it is randomized to choose which variation to play for that section, therefore resulting in endless variations but still having consistently produced/composed music tracks.

At this stage, it doesn’t need to have good music, but the person who takes on this project will need to create some very simple filler tracks using a DAW to build the functionality with, that can later be replaced by a composer.

As such, there are actually no project files - this task would involve creating a plugin in a third person template project, and creating the necessary hooks/events/listeners to trigger a change in track/layer/etc and trigger the transitions. Then I would add this plugin to the game myself, then a composer would switch the simple filler tracks with their own music.

You will need to have a plan in mind for handling tracks & segments, transitions, arrangements, and moods. To meet the requirements, the system would need to include all of those.
