EQ-Games (www.eq-games.com) has expanded to Midtown Atlanta and is looking for an experienced game designer to work with our creative leads to iterate on and develop PVE game systems for our upcoming title.
This job will be full-time and is an onsite or remote position. However, onsite is highly preferred.
We are currently working on an unannounced online 3rd person shooter made in the Unreal Engine (PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5)

What You Will Do:
- Define gameplay mechanics and systems while keeping them aligned with the overall vision for the game
- Put together detailed documents that are persuasive and easy to understand.
- Tune and iterate designs based on playtesting, game metrics, and team feedback.
- Collaborate with creative leads and the team on design decisions.
- Implement your ideas in-game and collaborate to realize your feature creations
- Analyze and debug issues with content while working to test out new features.
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:
- 2+ years working as a designer or similar role
- Have a portfolio of work demonstrating strong proficiency for design theory
- Have a strong knowledge of game design and existing game mechanicsStrong sense of UI/UX design for game systems
- Ability to work and multitask under AAA-gaming timelines
- Self-motivated and eager to contribute on many aspects of development
- Excellent communication skills, enjoys working on a team and teaching others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Great work ethic and self-motivation
- Passion for games with a wealth of knowledge across a wide range of games.
- Has Shipped at least 1 game
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 production pipelines
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Perforce
- Solid Unreal scripting skills
- Fluency in C++
