About Kognitif
Kognitif SAS, located in 13008 Marseille, France, is recruiting a UE4 Game Developer Manager who will take on a major role in the development of project Kocoon.
Kognitif will develop a non-invasive and non-pharmacological multi-sensory immersive VR medical device in the context of a European research project for Alzheimer’s disease.
The role of the UE4 Game Developer Manager in this process will be the management of 3D content creation for this cutting-edge multi-sensory immersive environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Be the main point of contact and communication for the game developers and management
- Provide initial media delivery estimates and then maintain a production schedule within the design team to ensure that all delivery targets and quality standards are met
- Contribute to production planning and budgeting
- Organise the work effort and the various teams : distribute the work load intelligently and adapt the number of team members as a function of current need
- Read and understand SDK information and develop/adapt techniques to create content in a multi-sensory VR environment within Unreal Engine 4
- Plan training and cross-training of team members to in order to ensure an optimal ability across teams
- Lead and monitor quality assessments to ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage team absences and unforeseen events (sickness, technical issues, etc.) as well as potential interpersonal issues between team members
- Evaluate the progression and the performance of teams
- Evaluate technical problems which impact project continuity, manage them and if needed alert management
- Ensure proper work practices and documentation of effort are followed by all team members
- Take charge of reporting on project status and goals
- Coordinate with key internal and external production stakeholders
Requirements
- Clear communication and negotiation skills are crucial. People-management skills are also vital to this role as is the ability to manage time and resources efficiently
- Possess good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Show understanding of different backgrounds when working with multi-cultural teams
- A thorough understanding of the core Adobe CC tools : Photoshop, Illustrator, and all relevant 2D and 3D software
- Storyboarding; possess the ability to take a design brief and create storyboards that clearly communicate design directives to animators and design team members
- Positive attitude with a problem-solving can-do attitude
- The ability to take and give constructive criticism and feedback
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, especially in terms of file and folder structure
- Able to multi-task and work across multiple media projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with an eagerness to continually learn and grow
- Proven experience with VR production / game production
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role
- Business level written and oral expression in French and English, other languages would be a plus

The level of remuneration will depend on the candidate’s professional experience
Desired start date: immediate
