Studio Phoenix LLC is currently hiring a Unreal Engine 5 developer to join our indie horror project, One of Us, a multiplayer FPS/social deduction game with a psychological horror twist.
We’re looking for someone who’s confident with UI/HUD systems, screen effects integration, and gameplay scripting (Blueprints or C++), with strong understanding of UE5 multiplayer logic and UI scaling.
All assets are provided for this gig. We are mainly mappers and artists, and would like to contract others who are skilled in what we lack in order to complete this job.
About the Game
One of Us is a tense, hyper-realistic online multiplayer experience where up to 10 players are trapped in a map — one of them secretly assigned as the murderer. The goal? Kill everyone else before your sanity gives out… without being caught.
Players must identify the killer, survive, and escape — or eliminate everyone before time runs out. The tone is mature, psychological, and atmospheric — closer to Deceit, Phasmophobia, or Dead by Daylight, but with a heavier emphasis on realism, paranoia, and immersive UI.
We Need You To Build:

- Frost/cold exposure
- Burn overlay (blend with blood FX)
- Shattered screen on blunt hits
- Dirt/mud screen when interacting with grime
🔪 Murderer + Sanity Meter System

- Random murderer assignment at game start
- Unique UI: sanity bar that depletes over 5–7 min
- Sanity resets on kills, slightly boosts from damage or NPC animals
- Special murderer-only tools: vials, poison medkits, trip traps
- Knife logic: 25% normal hit, instant kill on backstab, audible blade draw
- Murderer gets 10% bonus health per player in match (up to 200%)
- Match ends when murderer dies or goes insane (triggers scoreboard and reset)
