My name is Carrie, and I’m the creator of The Humanox, a single-player and co-op survival game for PC. I’m looking for a skilled Unreal Engine developer to collaborate with on bringing its unique gameplay systems to life.
This isn’t just another survival game; it’s a project I call “Survival with a Soul.” It’s built on a foundation of deep narrative, where every mechanic is designed to serve a powerful, emotional story about memory, grief, and what it means to be human in a world reclaimed by machines.

Project Status: What’s Already Done
This project has been in development for a long time, and the entire vision is already blueprinted. I am not just an “idea person”; I have put in the work to build a solid foundation.

The Full GDD: A comprehensive, 200+ page Game Design Document is complete. It details every system, from the core loops and enemy AI to the full quest flow and UI mockups.

The Companion Novel: The game’s story is based on my completed 84,000-word novel, The Humanox, which provides a deep well of lore, character, and dialogue.

World & Assets: The game’s main world environment is near-final, built in UE5 with all major zones and landmarks complete. The vast majority of the required 3D models, UI assets, and sound effects have been purchased or created by me and are ready for implementation.

Framework: The project is currently built on a solid framework foundation to handle the basic survival systems (stats, inventory, etc.), allowing us to focus on the custom features.
The Role: Who I’m Looking For
I am looking for a talented and collaborative UE5 developer with strong Blueprint skills to help me build and integrate the game’s two signature custom mechanics:

The Power Core “Tug-of-War”: A dynamic loop where players must defend their physical power source from bots who will actively raid their base to steal it. This involves complex AI priorities, state management for the Power Cores, and a repeatable “boss” encounter.

The Talent Card System: A unique, poker-based progression system where players collect playing cards from bots and form hands to unlock skills. This requires building the custom UI, card inventory, and the logic for hand validation and applying character buffs.
Ideal Candidate:

Experienced with Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints.

Strong understanding of gameplay systems, AI behavior trees, and UI (UMG).

Experience with multiplayer replication is a huge plus.

A great communicator who is passionate about narrative-driven games.
The Partnership & Compensation
When I say “partner,” I mean I’m looking for a dedicated collaborator, not just a hired hand. I want someone who is excited by the project’s vision and wants to be a key part of bringing it to life.
The goal is to use this polished “vertical slice” of our most unique feature to secure more funding for continued, long-term development.
I am open to discussing rates, milestones, and a potential revenue share for the right long-term partner in addition to the contract work.
