Packaging Error. "File name is too long"

Does the error give the names of the assets that are too long? And if so is it a problem to change the names of said assets? If it is just static meshes than I think you can just rename them shorter and it should not give the error.

When packaging my game for windows 64 bit, I keep getting errors about some of the assets in my engine that the filename is too long. How do I fix this error? Do i save the engine in a new location?

thanks. I can try that, It does give the names of assets. I dont know how many there are and I dont want to change the name of hundreds of assets. Wasnt sure if there was another work around or if it was where the assets are stored?

No I don’t think so, I think it is more as when you make your project name too long, the engine does not like that. It has a set amount of characters it can handle for each asset I think.

I do have win 10. I will look at this for sure. thank you.

If this doesn’t work you can create your own automated renaming script or get a plugin from the marketplace.
