Overlapping foliage issue

Hello, I’ve added 2 static meshes to the foliage brush: a rock (1 meter) and a patch of stalks of grass (1 meter). when I place them in the Foliage brush together and make sure that the Filter is set to the default (don’t allow foliage to overlap) when I spray them out the grass still overlaps with the rock and sticks out of it. Is this possibly because the center points aren’t overlapping, but the editor doesn’t know where the bound extents are? What else might I need to do to ensure foliage doesn’t overlap with other foliage?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know, it’s not possible. You need to go in afterwards and tidy it up.

You say ‘filter is set to default ( no overlap )’, where is that?

The help text in the filter section says " Allow foliage to be placed on foliage"… I interpreted that to mean if it was unchecked foliage wouldn’t overlap… maybe it means something else?

That flag means put some trees in, then you can paint flowers on them. Both being foliage…

You’ll get plenty of overlapping foliage even with it unchecked.
