Overdrive/saturate effect in metasound?

Anybody knows sensible way to “overdrive” signal in metasound? I’m currently using clamp node but it’s rather harsh

You could try compressor with a high ratio which is sort of like a saturate effect.

You could also try to get the section of audio that is being clipped by the clamp (using min, max, abs and a some maths), reduce the volume of it, and mix it back with the original signal. That would be less harsh than just a clamp, but I think that’s the same as compression really.
