Hello,
I want to get a good orthophoto of a cemetery to draw the map.
But my result is not good enough.
Sketchfab : https://sketchfab.com/models/3b90ac395d854602b7bac56083146d42
here the set up with a view of ortho and a view of original photo.

Hi basset,
again, we need a bit more info.
For example:
What kind of resolution do the images have.
What do you not like? It doesn’t look too bad in my opinion.
What is your goal?
A wireframe view would also be good.
What you cannot expect is a model that is perfect on the pixel level. What I mean is that the geometry will always be a bit wobbly if you look at it with the full resolution of the images. So you need to take images with higher resolution to get a good geometry. Or you can retopologize. There are many variables…
Hello,
The photos are from the drone DJI phantom 4PRO, resolution : 5472x3648
I did a test between 2 software, see the image
The ortho from the other software is much better, so i need to find the best set up for RC to get the same ortho.
The 3D model from RC is better and i like it.
But the problem is on the ortho
What is wireframe view? how to get it?
Hi basset,
you sure that’s an ortho? Looks rather like a photo to me - the gravestones are perspective!
RC has a different way of texturing which makes it more demanding for a good image set and a good alignment.
To get it where you want it is a learning process that cannot be answered in one or two sentences…
Wireframe is the view where one can see the triangles or polygons. In RC it is calles Solid view.
yes it’s a ortho but you are right there are many perspective.
Where can i find solid view?
With my screen shoot, do you have enough information to tell me where i am wrong?
Is this a difference in result between taking photo directly in jpeg or directly in raw then covert in tiff?
Hi basset,
you can find more information in the Real-time Scene Renderer tutorial in the Help section of the software.
not enough memory, i have the GTX 1080 TI
i tried other set up but still orthophoto not good.
i wonder if RC can produce good ortho? anybody can tell me what is the best set up for orthophoto in RC?
I align photo, then built high detail reconstruction, then unwrap (fixed texel size, optimal) then texture then built orthophoto.
But the result is still not good.
I can’t find a tuto or post explain clearly how to get a good orthophoto.
In Photoscan it is much clear, i still wonder if RC is the maximum i got.
I tried to put Ortho pixel size small to get a godd quality, but not possible to export it.
Hi,
to solve this issue please provide screenshot of your reconstruction texture settings. I think you are looking at simplified reconstruction used for Sketchfab so the resulting quality of the model is simplified. However the main issue here is the quality of your texture generated.
Here is a orthophographic manual: https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002328751-Orthographic-projections-in-RealityCapture
To export this ortho you have to set BigTIFF option because it’s too big for ordinary Tiff.
It is not possible to view model with more than 40M triangles in RC. The Sketchfab model is also simplified and you need Pro account if you wish to upload better quality model there.

Hi Basset
Did you manage to get a good ortho?
