Hi,
This is my first time using realitycapture to generate orthophoto s of a building facade.
Normally I use pix4d. My issue is this, the first two times I generated an orthophoto for this project, it ran quite quickly (10-15 minutes), now I am trying to generate additional orthophoto of the same project and it’s taking 3-4 hours. When it eventually processes the orthophoto is not viewable, when I drag it into 2d pane, it’s just a grey panel with the blue processing dots running non stop.
This project is due Monday and I’d like some feedback asap.
Thanks,
Dan.
Just tried another process, same story, when dragged into 2D pane…nothing just grey.
When I try to export, an error message saying the Tiff file is too big appears. Even after selecting compression in the orthophoto options.
Seriously annoying, as it takes hours of processing time to come up with a error message.
Thanks in advance.
Hello Dan,
it seems, that your ortho image is too big. Can you please, check the resolution of ortho image in ortho projection tool?
(see highlighet values in the attachement)
orthotool.PNG
If your image is too big, it takes long time to load and save as well.

Get the new build released yesterday and export it as tiff, the bug has been fixed there.
Thank you gentlemen
I will certainly give this a go and let you know how I get on.
Wishgranter, where can I download the update? Silly question I know, but I’m having difficulty locating it.
Generally: approx how long should it take to process a large orthophoto, ball park figure.
Thanks so much, I’m really enjoying getting to grips with this software.
Okay,
Downloaded update and installed, lowered the size of orthophoto and she works well.
One final question, how do I attach the scale bar visible in the 2d preview to the actual ortho?
Thanks for you patience
Dan.
Hi Dan
the scale bar is not implemented yet but each ORTHO has its own resolution per pixel, so you can add it manually, by just counting pixels and their resolution. Say an ORTHO has pixel resolution of 1cm, then 100 pix is 100cm, or 1 meter.
