Orthographic View Goes Grey

Hello,

After some time in a new project the Orthographic views (front, left, etc) stop working and go solid grey. Coming from other 3D software I’m used to working this way instead of freestyle flying around the viewport.

When I start a new project it seems to work for a while but at some point just stops. I don’t think this is to do with the scene being too complex as it’s happened with just a few objects in the outliner but it’s driving me nuts!

I’ve googled this problem a few times before and seen it reported multiples times for UE4 over the years with no resolution but can’t seem to find the same for UE5.

Is it something in doing?!

Image attached for reference, would really appreciate any support.

you are most likely just way too far off your scene. Try to zoom In and pan to the center of your scene.

Thanks for this - it was driving me nuts.

I had to switch my main viewport to perspective, then switch to ‘Top’ view and press F to recentre all the other views.
