I am a beginner in UE4. I have designed a level with the assets provided by UE4 in Kites package. I had to keep my engine scalability on low in order to stop my system from freezing every now and then. Now as my level is complete, i compiled my project and shared it with my friend but it’s lagging a lot and it was lagging before too when i was designing the level and that’s why i developed the whole level on low scalability. Now i am wondering how can i improve the performance of the level? Is there a way i can remove all the unused polygons (including the polygons that are hidden beneath the landscape) and is there a way to make the level playable? I am quite sure that my laptop meets the minimum system requirement for using UE4 but still I am posting my laptop’s specifications just to be sure that my specs are not causing the problem.
Laptop: HP-14 AL-176tx
Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U (7th Gen 2.5Ghz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940MX(2GB)
Ram: 8GB DDR4 (2133Mhz)
Any help regarding optimization of the level would be a great help.
