Optimized Rocks

A set of 22 highly optimized rocks, hand retopologized from photoscans, each including a distance fading normal detail map material, LODs and collision.

These rocks were created to look beautiful and run well on both high and low end machines. Each rock formation and boulder has been painstakingly retopologized by hand (not automatically reduced) to remain faithful to their original high res scans, and for optimization. Though these assets have not been tested on mobile, they are well within/under the Performance Guidelines for Mobile Devices: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/…le/Performance

Rock faces have been sculpted and added to, for easier adaptability when sculpting the landscape to fit:


…and the boulders have been completed on all sides for more variation when instancing, as an example the rocks in this scene consist of only one instanced boulder:

Each asset comes with a 4096, 2048, and 1024 color and normal map, as well as a 512 detail normal and optional detail color map. Adjustable areas within the material are commented for ease. Includes from 2 to 4 levels of LOD depending on the vert count of the asset, as well as Auto Convex Collision.
