Optimization and best practices for multi-camera splitscreen output

Hello all–

I am trying to figure out the best way to pursue a split-screen project. I have a 3840x1080 game window that I want to use a split screen with one camera for each side of the screen. I will need to switch camera views periodically.

Currently I have this up and running with two scene capture 2d components → render target → UI widget. I got a warning that this will take an extremely high amount of memory (>300Mib).

Is there a more efficient way to do this? I also made a setup using nDisplay but this seems much more involved and not sure if it is more performant.
