"Operation failed" when doing lots of things

Hello there, I’m using ROG GA503QS laptop with Nvidia RTX3080 8G and AMD R9 5900HS, and just installed Reality Capture(So I think clean install is not a solution, and my user name contains no weird character). I have three problem right now, hopefully to get some advice.

  • The program can’t auto safe (operation fail)
  • Each time before I click “Align images”, the program will show “operation fail” if I did not manually save (CTRL + S). Is that a set feature or problem?
  • Currently, I cannot use “Normal detail” and “High Detail” for mesh model even if i change the default GPU to RTX3080. Only “Preview” can work.

Hi,

can you show me what is written in the console view? Is it possible, that some of the character in your name are non-latin? You mentioned, that there is no strange character, but it have to be Latin one.

Or is it possible that you have any non-latin characters in the paths to your project and images?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Operation failed for EVERYTHING except for preview mesh reconstruction. Tested on 2 systems (Win 11, Intel 11700k, RTX3060) (Win 10, Ryzen 3900x, GTX 1080 TI)

Hi AlexNiko, which account are you using when you get this error? Do you have this error also for alignment?

Hi Ondrej, I use Pay per input, on this account. Yes I get error aligning images, error on autosave. I can get past aligning issues, by clicking Start in the workflow tab. I still get alignment failed message, but the images look aligned. And can’t do anything past model preview quality, everything fails

Hi Alex, is it possible that you have non-latin characters in a path to the images or where project is saved? Or do you have a space in that path?

please check as Ondrej stated above that there are no non-latin characters in any of your paths.
