I managed to combine the mesh data with the shiny texture of a model (two separate data sets) in one component. Textured and exported the model. I tried to open it in meshmixer to see the result. Usually when exporting, the model opens together with the texture in meshmixer. But with this model it seems to open without texture, but with a red surface. Does anyone have an idea what seems to be the problem and how to overcome this? Does meshmixer not support shiny textures or does the whole RC combining the mesh of one with the texture of another data set be the problem?
I cannot speak for Meshmixer, maybe even there could be an issue, but first let me investigate what could happen on our side.
Could you please give me a screenshot of your export settings you would use here with all the dropdown menus extended?
I hope I’m still in time, I use steam and the deadline is February 13th for the new conditions to start, model consists of> 1000 images. Model is already computed, but I am probably not allowed to export this amount of data anymore.
I can try this evening.
Well, unfortunately they are not. The exact hour of the change is not set yet though. Please try it as soon as you will be able to. I am sorry for not being able to help you more.
Then I suppose this is on the meshmixer’s side as it is showing you the surface without texture. Try checking the settings or shaders there to display texture. Texture should be correctly linked to the mtl of an obj so I don’t see a problem there. Also possibly you could try a different software, just to see whether the obj is written correctly and can get texture loaded with it.
