Opening context menus of any kind uses 100% of my GPU

Hi there,
I’ve been having this issue with UE5 where whenever I open a context menu of any kind it uses 100% of my GPU. And essentially freezes my PC until I close the menu. I’ve tried;

  • Updating/reset drivers,
  • Updating/reset the BiOS
  • Switched GPUs (to a RX 6500 XT)
  • Reinstalled UE5
  • Used legacy versions of UE5
  • Removed all projects
  • Removing all other add-ons
  • Cleared the cache
  • Running UE5 with NO other windows open
  • having the MINIMUM background tasks open
  • Looked at other forum posts relating to the issue
  • tried other types of starter projects like games, architecture, ect
  • Prayed to Jesus for help

I’ve done all of this, YET NOTHING. If I can’t resolve this I’m just gonna start using the source engine because I am reaching my limit.

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 3400g
GPU: Radeon RX 6600
RAM: 32GB
OS : Windows 10

I am at my limit here, god help me.

FOUND THE CULPRIT
[Should note a full Windows 10 reinstall still did not effect any of this]

UE5 will always use 100% of the GPU while having a context menu of any kind open. However this can be countered by having task manager set to “Always on Top” and open in the same monitor as UE5.

If you don’t want Task manager to be always taking up space while the engine is open WELL TOO BAD!! the best you can do is set it to “Fewer Details” and have it in the corner or something [As seen below].

If this isn’t good enough for you, just go cry about it in a corner about it like I did until you learn to cope with this. Tim Sweeny will never care about us.
