I have never converted an older project into an updated engine. How do I go about this? Does anyone have a tutorial I can watch?
If you try to open the project in a different engine version than it was saved, it will ask you if you want to convert the project to 4.4, or open it as a converted copy (so your 4.3 is still there).
Open as a copy if you are worried.
As stated above, the conversion process is simple and straight-forward. I wouldn’t really be worried about losing any data or anything when converting a project to the latest version of the engine, unless you used a feature of version 4.3 that got updated or changed in 4.4.

Once you double click on the project that you want to convert, I would highly recommend that you open a copy of that project. This is the best method because, just incase, something happens to your project when converted, you can still have the backup of your old project. This will ensure that you do not lose any assets or data. Once you have confirmed that the project is stable in the newer version, then you can go in and delete the older version of the project. That is just what I would recommend.
