What is best way to make open space map?
I would be fine with just using large Barrier device with space material, but horizon is still visible from within barrier. I have to get rid of that horizon line.
Hi Petz,
What do you mean by ‘open space map’? What sort of gameplay are you trying to create?
It’s just a shooter with jumping puzzles.
But I want it to be in a space with floating rocks instead of standard island with sky and clouds.
I see, instead of ‘Barrier device’ I think the word your looking for is ‘Skybox’
It’s possible to make one inside of UEFN. (This Video comes to mind, but you don’t need to get into generating skybox textures)
Just be sure that the skybox does not have any collision, or you’d get ejected from inside of it on spawn.
Thank you very much! I’ll give it a try.
This worked great. I watched all of Warforge videos, but forgot about this one.
And it was actually default fog that was visible withing my space, not horizon line. I removed it by disabling fog in Day Sequence Device.
There is one issue I have now that I can’t figure out whole morning.
Inside editor my space looks great:
But when I run the game, it becomes really bright:
I was playing with properties in Day Sequence Device, and properties of space sphere that I made, and even my character and prefabs becomes lighter or darker, background space is always really bright.
Glad to hear it! The result looks cool.
The problem you’re seeing is that when ‘scalability’ is set to “low” a lot of the lighting features are turned off. (This is what Nintendo Switch players would see)
Ideally, you’d want it to look good on all platforms, but for PC/PS5 etc, I’d change the in editor scalability to ‘High’ and use the “Environment Light Rig” device to tweak things.
