Opacity masked particles 4-27

Hi All, I have a particle system what I want to use in my project with Ray Tracing.

The issue I am facing is the opacity masks, as it just cuts out my shape and there is no way to soften the gradient without using Linear Gradient and Dithered Temporal. Has anyone figured out a method or alternative to do this to create a realistic particle effect such as fog within Ray Tracing.
