Only Package File Folder Required For Shipping Game?

Greetings!

I’m not sure what the terminology is for the question I have, so I’m going to reiterate.

Upon packing my game (it’s only a test build), I noticed that:

  1. The main content folder has 15GB.
  2. The package folder has 8GB.
  3. The saved folder (where there are cached cooked items) is a whopping 28GB!

When I ship the game, the only folder required is the packaged folder, no? (My game is for PC, so the folder is defaulted “Windows”)

If this is the case, my assumption as to why the packaged folder is smaller than the content folder is because Unreal culls unused assets. If this is the case, it takes quite a bit of pressure off of me to optimize the data size management so that my patrons are not having to download a 200GB game.

Insight would greatly be appreciated!

Yes, you only need to ship the Packaged “Windows” folder
