Hi,
i’m trying to define one projest that include laser scanner data and photo, my goal should be to define mesh based on laser (best for geometry) textured byphotos (best for color), is it possible?
Thanks in advance
Hi insideout_pc1,
it is possible, please, check: https://www.youtube.com/@CapturingReality/search?query=laser
Thank you Orthan,
i’m already define the right process but i would like to be sure about one thing, in this way i use all geometric info related to laser scanner accurancy to “stich” photo mesh in the right way or i define a mesh that is a compromise of two model (laser and photo)?
Hope the meaning of the question is cleear…
thanks again
In 1Ds view you can select just laser scans and set that they will be used for meshing and not used for texturing. In similar way, you can choose all images as set them as disabled for meshing and enabled for texturing.
I have a non-colorized point cloud that is grayscale for intensity only. Is it possible to apply RGB color to the actual point cloud points from images taken by a drone or other hand held camera?
Yes, it is possible to do so on the mesh created from that point cloud if it is from terrestrial laser scanner. If not, additional corrections need to be done (like Create Ordered Point Cloud From Unordered | Tutorial or Texturing Handheld Laser Scan Models | Tutorial)
Hi Orthan,
i trying to put toghether laser and photos.
I defined two model, it really complex it’s about 200 laser scans station and 1500 photos form drone.
Is it correct to use control point to define common between scans and photos?
i put 5 common point probably i have to put put more point to force joining?
Thanks for support
Do you have already crated the models? Are you using georeferenced data?
If you have the models and they are not merged, you will need to align data together and create the model.
If also laser scans are georeferenced, then you can use Merge georeferenced components tool n the Alignment settings.
5 points should be enough, but then need to be placed on minimally three images/LSPs in both components.
laser scanner is in local system, i put all foto in prior pose position “unknow”, but component related to photo is always georeferenced…i’m trying to add more control point but it seems there is no way to put model togheter
It shouldn’t be georeferenced, as you set the images to Unknown. Are they also showed correctly on map view?
Can you show some print screens here of your 1Ds view and also of the components in 3Ds view?
OK, it seem that you are using GCPs and not just CPs. Therefore the image’s component is georeferenced.
Also, the points are placed only on one LSP, it needs to be placed on more (similar as images). Ideally on thee LSPs.
