Hi guys… trying to make a long story short…
I recently converted a 4.26 project to 5.0. When making a Level sequence in 5.0 (or editing an old one)… If I use audio in the sequencer, attach it to an object in the sequencer and attach a sound attenuation to it… while playing the sequencer the sound works properly as it should… but when I go to “play level” to test my project the sound is not working properly…
After trying to figure out what is wrong for over a week or so now I have realized something odd but I still do not fully understand…
At first i thought the sound wasn’t playing at all… but I figured out if I adjust the sound attenuation sphere radius and make it very large (6000 / 3000) I can hear the sound but it doesn’t sound right… so that made me realize that the sound was playing…
then I started thinking that somehow the sound was possibly not playing in the correct location in the world…
I decided to move the object that has the sound attached to it to 0,0,0 in the world… I moved the character in the project there and with the sounds sphere radius lowered to 400 / 2200…
I play level and suddenly I could hear the sound play here and hear it clear in that area… but its not actually attenuated … its just loud in that area… so then I moved the object back to its original location to see if I could still hear the sound at 0, 0, 0 but when I tested that I couldn’t hear the sound at either location…
Sorry for the rambling, just still confused on what is happening here, ha.
If I make a new project in either 4.26 or in 5.0 I do not have this issue but it seems after making my current project go from 4.26 to 5.0 this has started to happen in my project…
*In the actual sequencer, I can hear the sound and it works properly
*When testing the project, the sound is not working properly… sound appears to be playing somewhere else in the world and not “attenuated” correctly
*Project was created in 4.26 and recently upgraded to 5.0…
Anyone have any suggestions? I was hoping there was a way to update files in my project or something similar… Any guidance or help would be very helpful and appreciated!! Thank you very much for reading and for your time!
