Hi there, Oculus isn't recognized with version 2023.1. It works with previous version. It's says "connect VR headset and restart"
- Tried switching to direct X, restarting, still no.
- updated all drivers on Oculus and Nvidia Geforce, still no
- Tried dropping VR quality down, still no
- tried each of these and restarted computer, still no
any thoughts? Thanks!
my specs:
- Rift S
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor 3.40 GHz
- 64 GB ram
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090
Hello ,
Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles. I believe the Oculus Rift S should work with Twinmotion 2023.1 but there could be some updating required.
Make sure you have High-end or better spec from the system requirements page:
https://www.twinmotion.com/en-US/docs/2023.1/getting-twinmotion/hardware-and-software-specifications-for-twinmotion/hardware-and-software-specifications-for-twinmotion-2023-1
Please check and make sure you have the most up to date windows, GPU drivers, DirectX.
Check to make sure the Oculus app is updated and the firmware for the headset is as well.
- Run Twinmotion > set it to DirectX 11
- Close Twinmotion
- Launch Oculus App
- Setup headset and guardian
- Enable cable link in VR headset
- Go back to desktop confirm Oculus is set as OpenXR Runtime under the General Settings
- Launch Twinmotion
- Check to see if VR icon is enabled and launch VR
- If it works try changing to DirectX 12

I am facing the same issue...I am using the Oculus Quest 2, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 , 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9 13900KF , 32 GB RAM.
I run the Twinmotion 2023 VR , it just showing the message : Connect VR headset and restart , Current Open XR Runtime : Oculus openxr 32
I did tried switching to direct X and restarting , updated all drivers on Oculus and Nvidia Geforce , dropping VR quality down , restarted computer still no..
I am having the same issue. I actually found out something that happens that is interesting. I connect my Quest 2 with Oculus link, and it works fine. As soon as I click on my TwinMotion tab, the Oculus screen goes black, and I click off, it goes back to the Oculus home space. This is unfortunate as we want to use TwinMotion for VR efforts, but this makes it not possible. Please advise!
