This is a problem with how you setup it, not the itself. Just tested it with demo provided on 's site. It compiles on 4.5.1 (with new dll which I uploaded yesterday) and water in that scene is animated. If you followed the tutorial on wiki about simple ocean - then you indeed won’t see any animation of the ocean surface :slight_smile:

The demo isn’t as plug and play as you might have expected. You still need to make sure objects are properly initialized and connected in blueprints, just follow the tutorial or look into the header files and you’ll be fine. I was playing around with it last week and everything was working perfectly on 4.5.1, including the FFT component :wink:

I can post them but why do you need them? This is in WIP state and there are alternative solutions already posted on the forum.

Download example project to understand how you have to setup your project and blueprints. Wiki article is not complete

Where? I’ve been googling around and everyone points to VaOcean. The other shaders people post are equally as old but have all their texture sample nodes broken

Also please note that someone has already made push request "Compatibility changes for UE4.7 " in project’s git repo so you can make changes to 's code and it will work in UE4 4.7.

Has anyone tried VaOcean with UE 4.7.3? I have some rendering “issues” (see: ://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/196733/473-ocean-material-not-rendering-472-is-fine.html).

I had the problem where it was not animating and managed to fix it.
The problem is in the blueprints the “Cast to VaOceanStateActorSimple” node was failing for ALL actors, including the VaOceanStateActorSimple I had in my scene.
I deleted the node and re-created the same setup. I also changed the “Get All Actors Of Class” and specified VaOceanStateActorSimple as the Actor class to filter.

What about 4.8.1? It seems that 4.7 version doesn’t work. Can you recompile for 4.8?

I would also like to know if someone is in the process of recompiling for 4.8? If not could someone point me in the right direction of documentation on how to recompile a ?
