Object rotation perpendicular to slope.

Is there a way to rotate object perpendicular to a slope

Hello,

If you use the Toggle local/world axis setting, you should be able to rotate the vehicle perpendicular to the slope. This second half of this tutorial video shows how this works: https://youtu.be/PXaYQpWLEUs

Thanks Raghib, that really helped.

I have the opposite question. I created a 3D model in Formit (to represent a house massing), exported as an OBJ, and imported it into Twin Motion which showed in the model tree. I then added it to my user library. From the user library I insert it into my drawing, however, it is on an angle to follow the surface slope. I want to bring it in parallel (or perpendicular - depending on how you look at it) to the flat ground plan. I can use the rotate user interface but the axis is not aligned with the face of my model so it rotates it on some goofy angle. Is there a simple switch somewhere where I can specify to bring in a model so it does not rotate to the ground surface? Or an easier way to get it the way I want it?

Sorry I am fairly new to TwinMotion and this is probably a very easy answer. Thanks!

Hi,

There isn't a setting that you can toggle this behavior on and off with, and most assets will try to "smartly" align themselves with the ground they're being dragged in on.

There is an easy solution for this, though. Underneath the Scene Graph in the right of the window, you should see an expandable panel that is set to Statistics by default. If you select this and change the panel to display the Transform panel, you can then easily adjust rotation of the model by setting the Y value to 0, orienting the model horizontally along the world axis.

I hope that helps!

Thank you for your response! Much appreciated. This is very simple.
