Object material disappeares when I use fracture mode and it doesn`t come back

Hi. My problem is that when using fracture mode to create a fracture, when creating a new GeometryCollection, the object’s material disappears and does not come back, even after clicking “Show bones collors” off. I also tried disabling Nanite in the world settings, it didn’t help either. How to solve the problem?

Is the moral of the story to simply not to fracture nanite meshes?
I’m also having the same issue as the author- materials disappear from a fractured nanite mesh. Unchecking the enable nanite checkbox in the geometry collection brings them back, but I was hoping to use nanite for as many of my meshes as possible.
