OBJ UDIM Export Creates Material Per UDIM

OBJ UDIM exports correctly except the model has a material for each UDIM. This is counter to the UDIM workflow where the model should be one material. Can this be fixed?

Are there any news to this UDIM /Maya /Material Problem. I just ran into this in the middle of a production.

I thought this has been fixed long time ago…now I can do my UDIMs manually.

I have version1.1.1.15122

Is it possible to download newest release if it is also there? Do you have the same problem as in the first question?

Great ! this is working now with the latest version.That could  have saved me a whole   day of work .

Im using the latest version and I am exporting multiple UDIM textures per model.  So if I export an .obj and open it in Substance Painter I get multiple materials with one texture per material instead of all the udims loaded as a single material.  I can’t find any options to change this on export…

Hi Steffen, I noticed that you created a ticket for this issue. So as you know, this is a bug which we are solving. Sorry for the inconveniences. 

Yes, but I have not gotten a reply saying that you are working on this.  I got a link to a youtube video that shows how to fix it after export, but that is taking quite awhile to do for each model, so I hoped this could be adressed so we could finally have the option to export as one material with multiple UDIM textures.

As you can see earlier in this conversation from the user “L.Groeger” he/she says that this works in the latest version, so that’s why I replied on this thread, maybe I had missed something.
