Now I run all games at Ultra @ 1920 x 1080 resolution no problem and UE4 loads really fast and renders quick etc. However, with the new TITAN X video card, should I upgrade to it? I have the money saved to spoil myself and was wondering on peoples opinion whether it would be a good move. Do you already have it? I see it is sold out and won’t be in stock until May 14th (when I want to order mine).
Would it be a good investment on my current rig? Should I also upgrade my RAM as well? Buy/build a new pc?
What is a good (or close to the best) monitors for gaming as well as UE4 purposes?
I am looking at this monitor: Acer B286HK Review | PCMagAcer B286HK
I would have to upgrade my power supply as it is a 460watt and TitanX requires a minimum of 600watts.
You have replied your question.
Performance per dollar no it’s not worth it since you only need a certain amount of FPS and your 650 already gives you a lot so you wouldn’t notice a wonderful performance boost (unless you are 4k addicted and so on). I’d say spending a $350 for a GTX 970 is the best move.
I suspect a Titan X is overkill. You’d probably be better off with a GTX980, or taking a GTX970 now (they’re quite cheap), and upgrading to something superior later down the line when hardware specs for this generation solidify a little
I’d agree with this post. For gaming purposes a Titan X would be complete overkill. Now if you’re going to be doing video editing, lots of rendering, it would be very helpful. It really matters what you plan to use the computer for.
Yes I will use it exactly for these reasons as well as gaming and watching HD tv. I am a documentary film maker, journalist, game dev (aspiring), multimedia artist so it will be put to use all around.
Well, with you doing all those things, a 4K monitor wouldn’t be a bad investment at the same time. But you might save a few bucks and go with the 980 Ti, if you haven’t already made your purchase. You would get more use out of the 4K screen, but look for a 40" display, as that will be the equivalent to having 4 1080p displays in front of you.
