Hardware optimized VR mode that claims to have built in async timewarp
Special voxelization stuff that makes it much faster(for GI, for example)
all the new nvidia library stuff
better performance with less power usage
If the VR mode works well, im DEFINITELY buying one. For the ones that dont know, async timewarp generates extra frames, so if you have 40 fps in the scene, it wont lag a shitload and will still look smooth(not as smooth as native 75 fps, but WAY better than now if you have 74 fps).
Also the voxelization stuff is very cool, new LPV implementation using that?
That is a huge leak of info omg!! Looking good, performance gains are pretty significant (with the drivers still in their early stages), all I need to know now is the price.
Nice! See a few UE4 mentions in there too. Makes me feel like I’m in the right place here. Not that I was thinking otherwise, I mean, I love you UE4 and I’d never do anything to hurt you…we good?
Seems good, but it seems as though it isn’t worth giving up a high-end GPU (780ti/290x) for… YET.
I’m sure Maxwell is going to do some great stuff, but it’s probably best to wait until Maxwell comes full circle.
Yeah indeed. As much as it hurts to say that they seem to perform bad with Path Tracers for now and also consume whooping 280 W on full, constant load!
Stress test power consumption:
So yeah not looking good for now. Hope it’s on the software side. The Indigo dev had great results on a 750Ti on his GPU build, so there might be more to it.
