Every time I start the editor it takes a long to for the project to load and I get 100s of files changed, I think Unreal is rebuilding or reimporting a lot of assets, mostly in the starter content since this is a new project.
I can’t figure out why it’s doing this, does anyone have any idea what’s going on here?
Hey there @XI1stIX! Welcome to the community! Basically there are all sorts of files, caches, and metadata that aren’t really meant to be sent in to your repo. These files are generated for everyone on their own and change every time you open the engine. Depending on your source control there are methods to completely ignore (not upload) these files to the repo. For example, this is one for using Unreal and Git that allow your repo to ignore any of these files.
