Not possible to install 5.1.1, getting an error about file access

I’ve first tried to update from 5.1.0 to 5.1.1 and I would get this error all the time, then I deleted 5.1.0 and tried to install 5.1.1 from the scratch and this error allways happens, it seems impossible to install 5.1.1

I’ve restarted both EpicGames Launcher and my machine couple of times but that did not help.

There is nothing wrong with my connection, what could be happening here?

It’s first time in last 3 years I am getting an error like this.

Has anybody else been running into this while trying to install 5.1.1?

Engine has downloaded on my HD without a problem and it takes 36GB, but it is not possible despite that to install it because of this error which I am getting for the first time ever. I am on stable fast cable connection, not wifi…

Not sure if this can help, I’ve uninstalled 5.1.1 and the folder you see above was not completly wiped out by EpicGames Installer, this is what remains and it’s not possible to manually delete it via Explorer either, nor enter this folder…

Any tips or help from Unreal Engine developers how to get 5.1.1 installed?

This is quite puzzling, this folder is impossible to delete, for some reason it is fubar and not even powershell with admin powers is able to delete it. I suspect it has something to do with 5.1.1 not being able to install properly once it has been downloaded…

Solution is to rename the above folder that is now no longer deletable for whatever reason. Not even third-party tools could delete the folder…

After renaming the main folder, I was able to install UE 5.1.1 into the same folder path as I’ve had it before…
