Not going past login screen

Epic games launcher stuck on "please wait" at login - Programming & Scripting - Unreal Engine Forums <–This problem, with no solution.

The suggestion with -OpenGL just insta-crashes it with the “Send Bug Report and Restart” “Send Bug Report” window. It’s also not a firewall issue since it persists even with that disabled. It was working fine before I did a clean upgrade to Windows 10 and tried to reinstall it. I also tried to get the debug log with the -debuglogging command but there’s nothing in the available AppData folders for Epic Games. Any ideas?

You may not be getting this error but try the suggestions in this section of the troubleshooting guide.

If nothing works, make sure to post your Dxdiag (system specs).

It takes 20 seconds to log in but that fix seems to have worked. I didn’t have to change any ports settings in my Comodo. Awesome! :smiley:

Do you know what the problem was?

We are still tracking down the exact cause but some users experience this issue and that workaround command allows the Launcher to interact correctly with their PC’s HTTP protocols.
