[Not Dev Grants] The Epic lottery : request

Hi.

Would Epic please consider a different kind of “prize” that does not require money but instead an employee’s time.
Perhaps like a monthly draw. Call it the Epic lottery.

The prize?

a personal skype / video call with the applicable staff at Epic to answer any questions one might have. For example.
You win and then have 5 days to submit your topics of interest. Epic then appoints a volunteer from a specific department to do the video call.
Its a private 1 on 1 session or if required a group session.

The winner gets to ask questions on how that person would approach certain tasks. Like how would they tackle the animation and blueprint / code process for throwing spears.
It will be none technical in depth answers but more the methodology behind it, the do’s and do not’s.
The point would be to give newcomers to game dev the opportunity to get inside information on how big studios tackle certain tasks.

Its more personal and more focused than a live stream. Also it does not have to be long. 30 minutes tops.
I would seriously love to see this.

Thank you for reading.
Cheers

I don’t think that would be possible because no Epic employee knows everything.
They would have to have available one guy from each engine department, but those people are kinda busy and from different time zones (they must work on both engine and game projects at same time).

Which is why it will have to be a volunteer. And on topic. 1 person only. So if you get an animator, you ask animation questions. I do not expect 1 person from each department to be there.

I bet an Epic employee would see that as some kind of punishment, like Zak’s pink hair

Personally if my boss asked me to please give this guy a skype call, he has some noob questions… i would be like… feeling a bit sick, soz have to go to dr.
