Not all laser scan data in model

Hi,

I’m importing an e57 from our scanner. I’m coming back to this project after 6 months and have a month’s license for RC through Steam.

Now when I load the data, align it and calculate a model chunks of the laser scan data are missing. The e57 data loads as expected in other software, such as Cyclone and CloudCompare. I tried merging the scans in CloudCompare, but the resulting e57 won’t load in RC.

Any hints?

Did you set a bounding box before reconstructing the data?

If not, I seem to recall this is something that can happen when you forget to set one…

Why are you merging them ? import the originals and it will work. the software you have mentioned creates UNORDERED point clouds that are not supported by RC.
Regarding the meshing issues, hard to say just from these images, if you set the RECONSTRUCTION REGION properly, then it is a bit questionable why are the holes there, is it possible to get the E57 for inspection ?

I was merging the scans to see if the multiple parts caused an issue, thanks for explaining why that wouldn’t work.
