not able to add montages to AnimMontage Array Element, even though choices are available

as you can see in the picture, i have an array element set up and when clicking the drop down menu it shows i have some montages to choose from. After clicking any of them the box still reads “none”. Anyone know why they wont apply or how to get them to add?

im using UE5.3 for this project
