I’m trying to get Live Link VCam to work in UE 5.2. When I go to add a VCam or Virtual2Camera Actor to my scene under Virtual Production, the option does not appear. I’ve looked everywhere. Is there a way to get this to show up. It it some odd preference, setting, or download???
Thanks for the suggestion Elias (very nice of you),
Yes, I have tried turning off VirtualCamera, VirtualCameraCore, Apple ARKit, Live Link, and Remote Session (some unrelated). Still the option to add a VCam is not showing up under Virtual Production. Perhaps something went missing with the new 5.2 update. Or, I may have some other setting setup incorrectly. Tough find.
I was able to find another way to add either to a VirtualCamera2Actor or VCamActor to the scene: Edit/Project Settings/Plugins - Virtual Camera. I was then able to find either of those actors under the Default VCam class. I clicked the Folder to connect to Content Browser, then added the VCam element to the scene.
But, I’m now finding that Live Link can’t see my iPad IP Address. Fun.
I think you can go to 192.168.1.1, which is the usual port to find all connected devices and thus getting the IP address. I assume you are looking for the local IP address.
You can also ping / read your devices with the command prompt. Let me know what system you are using and I can try to help you out!
