[NOT A BUG] Texture issues

In the application it looks perfect, but when exporting to obj and opening in 3DSMax the texture is a mess. See below.

Also i noticed the texture file created is HUGE and has a lot of wasted space, is there a way to optimize this? Here’s a link to it, it’s a bit large to embed on the forum: http://imgur.com/E0YeIBV, it’s 95% wasted space

I would suggest using pow2 texture size. It is available only when exporting a single texture. It works like this:

Can you post details on the model or also what UNWRAP details have you used?

I continued to try to get it to work, I clicked Unwrap (not sure what that is meant to do, no tooltip I could see) and that seemed to make it work. Not 100% that’s what fixed it or if it’s part of the workflow or something else I did in my clicking around.

the Unwrap tool is used before texturing, especially when you want to recompute it.
