When I go through the process including high detail mesh, colorize, and texture it makes a nice model. However, when I save and reopen the models is gone. Only parts of it?

click on the 2Ds view icon, like in the screenshot below, and change it to the 1Ds view so that you can see the structure of the project:

Not sure what models are produced when — but it was the last one made.
