Hi all,
As stated above, I’m having trouble with the root motion not being applied when an animation runs on a page flipping animation I made. Here is a video of the problem:
I know exactly what kind of problem this is, and in the past I’ve used a retargetting program that adds in the necessary root bones, but since this is not a human skeleton, I obviously can’t use that solution for this. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for the best way to fix this.
Here are how the bones are laid out in Unreal:
And in Blender:
Things that I have tried so far include: messing with every combination of force root lock, enable root motion, root motion root lock, and use normalized root. I have also tried renaming the blender group of bones (in orange) as “armature,” as well as the specific bone I want to be the root as “armature.” I have also messed with different combinations of ABP/Animation Asset under the skeletal mesh. I made my own ABP for the page class and just connected the default slot to the output pose and nothing else, so I suppose that could be where the solution lies, but I’m not sure.
I am always open to retry any of the above, I am just looking for some guidance in the right direction.
Thank you!
