Nøkken. Creepy forest scene

Hi all!
My first scene in Unreal Engine, based on a folk lore they used to tell us in Norway when we were kids to keep us away from the water. It is mainly inspired by Theodor Kittelsens painting of “Nøkken”, the creature that lures children down to the water by his sweet song and drowns them. A very sweet children story indeed!
The inspiration:

Anyways, I had the pleasure to use some of the awesome assets from the Kite demo (mainly rocks and boulders). Made the trees in SpeedTree and the grass and bushes are manual labour in Maya. It turned out to be a bit bright from the fog, and the video is a bit laggy since the Matinee export wouldn’t compile all the shaders, so some of the assets were left with the checker board. So I screen recorded it ^^
Totally open for feedback

oooh, I like the drawing’s atmosphere (evening lighting). I think all the bright fog kinda kills the mood of this dark fairytail. Just my 2¢.

Yeah I agree. I was going for a misty and mystical look but it seems that when the movie was done a lot of bloom and some other post effects made the fog really pop! I’ll fiddle around with it and see if I can change the lighting a bit
