Hello you lovely people you. Just installed 4.26 and was about to embark on this Epic journey, but there are no Templates showing up. Looked in the Engine folder (in Shared on a Mac) and they are there, but not in the Editor. Any ideas?

There is an array of example projects under the Learn tab in the launcher spanning across different industries. Unreal Engine > Learn.
Though when creating a project, there should be an option for the basic template to work with. What is coming up when you select to create a new project?
Having looked again, it was only the Film etc. templates. Everything else is there.
