does sound work in other applications?
did you somehow mute the editor and your OS remembered that? on window check the Audio Mixer (Windows right click the speaker in the in the tray, Audio Mixer)
did you turn off the audio sources in the Editor?
have you updated/modified the Editor directly, for Epic Games Launcher install could you verify the install, just in case.
were you implementing audio sliders, and miss connecting something, reverse something?
