I have been searching the forums and everything for ages trying to find a solution.
Here is my error log.
LogModuleManager:Warning: ModuleManager: Unable to load module ‘C:/Program Files (x86)/Epic Games/4.10/Engine/Binaries/Win64/UE4Editor-XAudio2.dll’ because the file couldn’t be loaded by the OS.
I have checked everything that has been posted as an answer but still no sound…
The application wont show up in sound mixer as well.
My current tries include,
Giving the only sound output exclusive
mode, and allowing applications to
take exclusive control.
Reinstalling the engine and the
launcher.
Making sure QWAVE is started and
running.
Downloading the newest DirectX.
Downloading and testing the “Sound
Test Application - using XAudio2 API”
and that works fine.
The volume in UE4 is at full.
But still no sound.
What other options do I have other then to not use Unreal engine?
I’m running windows 10.
Sound works on everything else.
Could you provide me with your ‘dxdiag’ so I can take a look at your system specifications? Mainly to take a look at your current audio hardware and driver version.
I just tested this issue on Windows 10 and was able to hear sounds fine using the starter content audio files.
From what I understand and have read, QWAVE is focused on streaming multimedia and real-time content over variable bandwidth networks. Have you tried disabling this and then running the editor to see if you hear sounds? The application could be trying to stream the sounds being generated by the engine and not allowing you to hear them on your local client machine. This is of course just a guess, as I have never used the application myself.
Thank you andrewHurley but after a extensive search on google and not finding any answers to help me with the sound.
I did however come across one post about something unrelated saying that a full re-install of windows might help so that’s exactly what i did, i did a full reinstall of windows but used windows 7 instead of 10 and now everything is working as expected.
