This happens to most sellers, it partially because a lot of people dislike Fab compared to the previous ue marketplace. You can see that with the free 2-week content where they got bombarded with low rating.
You can find people’s opinion on reddit, and they are all just hate against Fab(latest: https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/1id7wd1/i_hate_you_fab/ )
So it not entirely your fault, to me your assets look pretty good. I’ve barely sold anything in january and 0 sales since 22 January so far. I hope Fab getting better but i suggest having a plan B meanwhile because most fab team are newbie, so it gonna take a very long time before clients trust Fab.
You could try other store like Unity or proposed more formats for your 3d model.
Make sure your product has a good visibility when you search them by playing with name or tags.
Despite what Tim and the PR department says, FAB sales have pretty much crashed for most sellers. Pixiebell has already talked about the reasons, people just have a terrible experience with FAB and worse yet, those who try to buy assets are often prevented from it because of bugs.
Making matters even worse yet, newer sellers are immensely disadvantaged, as it’s near impossible now to find good, new assets because of the awful UI (e.g. search and categories), how their assets get drowned out by the flood of AI generated assets, how there is no favorite function anymore and how the arbitrary 5-star review system disadvantages new sellers.
So it’s really not your fault you are not making sales, although txbm is right in his advice to make these models available in the UE (and perhaps unity) format would perhaps help a bit.
You can also advertise your models, with a link to your store page, on Reddit gamedev / 3D subs and build yourself a profile on Bluesky. Just don’t expect it to change a lot until you build a large enough group of fans.
If I may give you another advice, the topology of your models could be improved. Looking at your " Medieval Building Pack" I see a lot of unnecessary polys / faces that don’t need to be there.
I made a quick screenshot and painted over the areas as an example that can be completely removed and made into a single face.
I need to do this but unsure how too.
(I’ve searched but I can only find info about FBX, OBJ and collisions. I already offer OBJ and the usual converted files).
I don’t suppose you have a link to a quick guide on how I can do this.
Firstly, I agree with the comments above that FAB has a bad asset visibility. Many sellers have a big drop in sales since FAB launch.
Regarding your assets:
Many users filter for Unreal assets and will never see your assets because they are not.uassets but raw FBXs.
I would guess that low-poly stylized weapons are an oversaturated market.
On FAB there are high-poly realistic looking weapons sold for this price, which increases the competition in the weapon 3D model niche.
I can only tell you my experience so far. I average around $3 to $6 per day in sales. Way less than I made on Sketchfab, which I really, really miss. I had 3,500 followers. Now, we don’t even have a counter to see how many views our models are getting. No likes, no place to leave and reply to comments. Soooo frustrating. But you can see how many models I have and the price range to give you an idea. Jimbogies
To be honest, I can’t pinpoint what kind of models people need. If an idea comes to my mind, I make it and upload it immediately. I think if I follow the communities I might find a few things.
Hey,
I am not in the 3D model niche but my sales actually improved on Fab. (I upgraded all my shop pages though)
Personally I only shop with the Unreal Engine filter and ai disabled. So make sure to add the Unreal format. When I take a look at your asset the castle looking asset is the only one I can see that has the potential to sell well as it can be used for a bunch of games. The sword assets though: I would instead just buy a sword pack if I really needed swords and not single assets.
If you need more ideas for asset/Environments (realistic):
door bells (only one single asset available)
Elevator with windows in the doors (no asset available)
Hotel environment (Not a hotel lobby and not old looking - only one asset available)
Coast town with beach, promenade, streets & housing. (Only 1 asset available)
Some marriage party (only 1 asset available)
Normal looking hospital (not apocalyptic or horror - no option available?)
I could go on and on with things that I miss and I would buy instantly
Great! Make sure to double check for other products though because for the hospital one I am not sure if there were any. Maybe there are. I don’t remember but I also can’t check right now.
