No invitation E-Mail after linking Github with Epic Games Acc to join organization [RESOLVED]

I also did not receive the invite, and there is no “join epic games” button. Unlinked and re-linked quite a few times. Something is definitely off here.

No emails ( GitHub or otherwise ). No join button. Bupkis.

Ideas?

Since yesterday, I have been facing the same problem. I still haven’t received an email inviting me to join the @EpicGames organization on GitHub.

I sent an email to technical support and customer service. I spoke with two different people, and the only response I received was this, but it didn’t work for me:

'Could you try disconnecting your Github account from both Epic and Github’s side? Once disconnected, I need you to follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Unreal Engine account dashboard. Sign in to UnrealEngine.com with your verified Epic Games account. To open your account dashboard, hover over your username, and select Personal from the drop-down menu.
  2. Connect GitHub. With your account dashboard open, select the Connections tab from the sidebar. Select the Accounts tab, and then select the Connect button below the GitHub icon.
  3. Link the accounts. If you have not already signed the Unreal Engine End User License Agreement, you will need read through its terms and select the check box, then select Link Account. If you are signed out of your GitHub account, you will be directed to GitHub to sign in after clicking the Link Account button.
  4. Authorize. To complete the OAuth App Authorization process, click the Authorize EpicGames button. You can learn more about this process in GitHub’s overview on Authorizing OAuth Apps.
  5. Accept the email invitation. GitHub will send an email inviting you to join the @EpicGames organization on GitHub. You must select the Join @EpicGames button in this email within seven days to complete the GitHub and Epic Games account linking process.’

Even after creating a new email account for a new Epic Games and GitHub account, it still doesn’t resolve the issue. It’s very frustrating, especially considering that this problem has been ongoing since 2021…

Okay. After creating a new account and everything and seeing that the email invitation didn’t come, I disconnected the GitHub account from both the Epic Games and GitHub’s sides and then followed steps 1 to 5 again. Finally, I received the email invitation.

I have to say… This is very inconvenient. I would expect better from Epic Games.

I am currently not receiving any invitation email either. Unlinking and linking again did not resolve the matter. I’m rather surprised Epic relies on a third party in this process.

Is there an alternative way to access the source files?

Yes I found those steps … you can actually find them in the public signup repo ( GitHub - EpicGames/Signup: Information about signing up for a free Epic Games account, and getting access to UnrealEngine source code. )

I opened a support case and they redirected me to “the community”, that being here, and “pay for premium support”.

I’m not creating a new email just so I can get it and I’m not paying for support with a shakedown on something on their side. I guess no source for me.

Very poor form though, especially considering all the potential unity people on the horizon.

Yep, I’m new from Unity and decided to start learning UE5 but I can’t even get the GitHub thing to work. I’ve followed all the steps, linked and unlinked like 50 times, contacted customer support aswell, checked my spam folders, deleted emails, literally every single possible thing and I still don’t get the invitation to join. Quite unfortunate but I guess I’ll just wait until this eventually starts working again

I can confirm that creating a new GitHub account and a new EpicGames account and linking them up did trigger the invitation. I don’t like it one bit but at least my team isn’t blocked anymore.

I finally got the e-mail invite after revoking access and re-joining for the third time (I did not use a new e-mail address or github account).

I just tried this multiple times and I still have not received it. Very frustrating.

Having the same issue here. Tried to do it twice already.

Me too :frowning:
Unacceptable!

I have the exact same issue. Sent a support request to customer service as recommended from here.

After a few back and forth, customer service sent me this:

I guess I’m here now. I’ve tried revoking access and unlinking multiple times but I still didn’t get any invitation email. Is there any way to just ping one of the Epic admins for GitHub? This seems to be a persistent issue for about 2 years.

I have tried more than 10 times revoking and re-linking accounts. Didn’t work for me. Later I tried adding Steam account. Again linked and re-linked Git, didn’t receive invitation email.
Changed language into Arabic in Epic Game, revoked authorization from Git and re-linked again with Git. It worked. Finally I can access the repo. Try this way, worked for me.

So it’s broken again… Unnecessarily annoying process having to repeat these steps multiple times so that it might work and grant you access…

Broken for me also, cannot get invite to the github to get the source code, I have unlinked and relinked my accounts from oauth multiple times, i even made new github & epic account still no invite. I feel like its closed cause of the Unity drama happening but thats just me being funny

Same for me. Tried re-linking my accounts and tried creating new accounts for both epic games and github, but it also didn’t work

Is Sharing a Link to the download on another site allowed, can someone please send me it if it is

Not sure how this will help anyone but after trying the revoke access from githib, unlink and then relink epic and github accounts steps multiple times across 3+ days I finally got the invitation mail. I didn’t spam it like 50 times all at once as doing it more that 3-4 in a row would seem to confuse even the you have unlinked/linked acounts mails, I just tried once or twice every so in a while across the day.

Hello all. Apologies for the difficulties here.

Our staff have worked on this and believe the root issue to now be resolved. For those of you who did not receive the invitation email, we expect you will need to go to your Epic Account Settings and unlink and re-link with Github again in order for the process to complete.

Thank you
