No GEometry showing in Unreal asset editor

I have purchased a number off models off the internet. When I drag them into unreal from fbx sources the asset editor shows nothing. If I click show, and check the nanite fallback then the model shows up.

I’ve downloaded Maya. I can load the models into maya and send to unreal. But upon dragging them into the editor I get the same issue.

I go into maya create a new scene, click create cylandar from polygons. I send this to unreal. Import into unreal and the same thing.

I used to dabble with maya in unreal 4. never had this problem. Clearly the geometry is there or nanite would have nothing to work with.

Please help. I know this is probably a noob question. But I have been exporting fro maya and importing assets for days. Please help.
