I was in the process of migrating my gameplay system plugins to Fab but noticed that two of my products don’t fit in any of the available product types and categories.
The product type “Game Systems” only accepts “Asset Package” or “Complete Project”. Mine is a plugin, so neither applies.
When I switch the product type to “Tools & Plugins”, none of the categories apply.
I have the opposite issue. I have two Blueprint-only products which should be under the “Tools & Plugins” category (they’re Editor Utility Widgets), but the distribution method for anything under this category is set to “Plugin” which is incorrect.
Same here. I’m in the process of migrating my Marketplace products. They are all in the Blueprints category, so they convert to “Smart Assets” on Fab by default. However, some of my tools fit more into the “Tools & Plugins” category, for example:
Hey, I’m trying to add a product type for my Tower Defense template. Unfortunately, there are no categories for strategy or tower defense games under the game template product category. Could you pass this on to the team as well?
Hi @skfabby, Thank you for passing the requests on to the team. I have contacted Fab support regarding this and another issue I had days ago. The other issue I had was solved immediately, but I didn’t get any response regarding the Tools & Plugins product type forcing the Plugin distribution method.
I suggested that a new category could be added under the Tools & Plugins product type which can accept both Plugin and Asset Pack distribution methods. This new category could be named “Editor Tools”, representing Editor Utility Widgets. And of course the Gameplay Systems category is very important to have as it represents so many plugins like vehicle system, weapon systems, inventory systems… etc.
I’m not expecting these categories to be added immediately, I just need to know which category a Blueprint-only Editor Utility Widget tool belongs to so my products don’t get declined.

Both issues have been fixed!
The Tools & Plugins product type now has Game Mechanics and Gameplay Features categories, and the Game Systems product type now has an “Engine Tools” category which fits Blueprint only Editor Utility Widgets.
