NightMaze

A bright flash of light, then darkness. When you awaken you notice something is not right. You look around and find a note next to you. It reads: “Welcome to the NightMaze. If you can solve the maze you will be rewarded with your life and body back. If you fail or choose to give up, your soul will forever roam the maze slowly dissipating and eventually becoming one of the many portals located through out the maze.”

When you enter the NightMaze not only will you be faced with twists and turns of a traditional maze, but also forced to deal with an array of maddening portals to solve. Sometimes the portals will help you solve the maze other times they will send you back, sometimes even to the very beginning. Do you have what it takes to beat the NightMaze?

There are several types of portals you will be forced to deal with inside the NightMaze. While they all share the same appearance they work very differently.

Simple Portal - These portals work by just touching them. They could move you forward or backwards.
Looping Portal - These portals require you to enter them several times to build up their power for the teleport. As you charge them up though they will send you to a location as their power and control isn't strong enough yet to portal you to their intended location.
Wait Portal - These portals require you to show your patience by making you wait. Be warned though sometimes waiting for these portals to fire could be a horrible decision on your part.
Input Portal - These portals require you to enter an input. There are two options. Option 1: press the 1 key. Option 2: press the 2 key. There tends to be no rhyme or reason behind which input should be entered. Choose wisely or pay the price.

The combination of all of these portal types creates a deep and troubling challenge for you to solve. Only the strongest of mind will make it through.

My goal was to take a simple game concept such as running a maze and take it up a ton on the challenge level. With being able to toss the player around the maze in a wide variety of ways I can create a super challenging game for players to play. While simple in overall game play itself the complexity of the game is what will drive players to keep coming back and forth.

Game systems are mostly coded for right now. There are some added features, new portal types, and better art style I want to put into the game, but current focus is knocking out making a large maze to work through.
