Niagra Bullet Tracer Lags Behind Bullet

I followed a tutorial for making a bullet tracer which is simply a niagra ribbon effect attached to a mesh but it lags behind:


In the image above my character fires a shotgun and the tracers are seen not connected to the bullets.
This is an issue because the bullet mesh(not the cubes) are very small and players use the tracers to adjust their lead/aim.
Is there a way to make it always be connected?
